Upsetting news
Last night the owners of the company called and let me know that their 7 yr old son had been hit by a car while riding his bike. Their son did not have a helmet on and is in critical condition with severe swelling in the head along with some other broken bones. He is in a medically induced coma being supported by a venilator.
Sometimes we need to keep things in perspective. Some of you know my oldest son is severally mentally retarded who has had numerous surgeries and while I have had 20 years to deal with it, it will be painful to watch others go through the anguish of watching their child suffer.
Lets keep our prayers for those who really need it.

I hate hearing about things like that!!! I will definitely keep that child in my thoughts. And I am getting a helmet for my head! I swear!
That's really sad Kurt, hopefully things will take a turn for the better...I know I'm bad and don't wear a helmet on my bike, or when rollerblading, or knee bads or wrist guards either, and I know it's stupid. Although I don't bike or blade much at all anymore, but still not an excuse for the times I do it. I'll keep him in my prayers and hope for the best and comfort for the family.
